Neck + Back Pain

All movements start with our core, which is our spine. A properly moving spine is an aligned spine.  Subluxations (misalignments of the spinal vertebrae causing poor movement patterns) are one of the most common causes of neck and low back pain. When vertebrae are misaligned, soft tissue is damaged and causes swelling and soft tissue expansion. The disc and/or nearby swollen tissue put pressure directly on spinal nerves, causing pain. Muscle spasms set in which can increase the pressure further. This extra pressure can cause even more inflammation and irritation, which leads to more pain. Spinal misalignments may affect and transform dysfunction to the nearby extremities. Often times stretching and massage may only temporarily relieve the pain because the misalignment of the human frame has not been addressed. A chiropractic adjustment focuses on correcting the function of the spine, realigning the frame of the body, and allowing the soft tissue around the spine to heal while optimizing nerve flow.
